Chenot Medical Wellness Resort is a redevelopment of a coast in Saudi Arabia into a premier destination for holistic health, preventive medicine, and wellness, extending the internationally recognized expertise of the Swiss Chenot brand. The project is conceived as a seamless integration of architecture, landscape, and therapeutic programs, designed to offer guests a transformative experience in a serene, restorative environment. The island’s landscape framework is carefully composed to harmonize desert, coastal, and marine elements, creating open, regenerating spaces that connect visitors with the rhythms of nature while promoting well-being. At the territorial scale, the design reshapes the island through regenerated shorelines, ecological corridors, and landforms inspired by dunes, wadis, and coastal terraces, forming a coherent spatial organization that supports both the wellness programs and the island’s ecology. Within this overarching landscape vision, the accommodation patios for patients play a central role in translating wellness into everyday experience. These patios are conceived as intimate, sheltered gardens that provide visual, acoustic, and thermal comfort, enabling daily interactions with nature that support recovery and mental balance. Designed with layered vegetation, reflective water features, and shaded pathways, each patio becomes a personal sanctuary that extends the therapeutic program outdoors. The material palette natural stone, sand, and drought-tolerant plantings—reinforces a sense of calm and connection to the island’s environment, while the spatial arrangement allows for walking, meditation, and contemplative activities. Together, these redesigned patios create a network of micro-landscapes that embody the Chenot philosophy: integrating architecture, landscape, and medical wellness into a unified, immersive experience for all guests.
